Extension lines
Safeflow is always a closed system. The smallbore extension line allows manipulation away from the injection side, which ensures treatment of patient by infusion, transfusion, aspiration of blood samples and intermittent injection. Tubings with smaller internal diameter are minimizing the contained volume and can be used for pediatric / neonate patients.
User Benefits:
- Swabbable
- Compatible with Luer-Slip and Luer-Lock
- Allows multiple access for direct aspiration or fluid injection
- Suitable for all IV Systems

Practice Suggestions
Needle-free infusion system
1. Swab the Safeflow valve with a disinfectant pad (as per your hospital protocol) allowing time for the disinfectant to dry.
2. Insert the syringe or connect IV tubing into the Safeflow valve and turn clockwise. The Safeflow valve is not opened until your syringe or IV administration set is attached. Flush or give medication as necessary.
3. If working with extension lines, close clamp before disconnecting the syringe. Do not leave connected Luer-Slip syringes unattended.
4. Turn the syringe or IV tubing counterclockwise to remove. The Safeflow valve will close automatically when the syringe or IV administration set is removed. When using a syringe apply positive pressure upon deactivation or as per your hospital protocol. Change Safeflow valve as recommended by your hospital protocol.
