As Simple as a Single Shot with the Power of a Catheter

Ultrasound pictures provided by Dr. S. Bloc, Claude Galien Private Hospital France

Every patient deserves the best possible pain management. Regional anesthesia and particularly continuous peripheral nerve blocks are powerful methods for providing optimal pain management for patients undergoing surgery.1 However, the catheter technique for nerve blocks is frequently associated with challenges such as controlled catheter placement or high process complexity.2 Contiplex® C is a novel and patented catheter placement system that facilitates better, easier, and safer continuous nerve blocks. The innovative catheter-over-the-needle design helps to overcome several of the limitations associated with peripheral catheters. We invite you to discover the capabilities of the next generation nerve block catheters that offer the synergy of both techniqes: as easy as a single shot with the power of a catheter.

User benefits

Ideal for ultrasound:

Highly echogenic catheter and ultrasound friendly handling that enables one handed catheter placement

Less complexity:

Fewer and more effective handling steps

Less leakage³:

More precise and reliable catheter placement

Less trauma4:

More patient comfort with 625 puncture canulla

Clever Handling for Successful Catheter Placements

Step 1: Getting Set

Disconnect C-Grip from luer lock and move towards cannula tip. Fixate C-Grip at 2cm mark by pressing on the clip. Inject saline to remove air from the system*.

  • The hygenic setup may vary according to local practices.

Step 2: Go
Puncture and orientate under nerve stimu-
lation and/or ultrasound guidance. To advance Contiplex® C, release pressure from clip, push back until 2 cm from skin level, fixate
C-Grip and feed forward.

Step 3: Finish
Navigate until desired end point is obtained. Inject bolus via cannula. Hold Contiplex® C catheter in place using the C-Grip and withdraw cannula from catheter lumen.

Step 4: Reward
Mount Perifix® Connector, Perifix® Filter, and DEHP-free injection tubing. Inject local anesthetic dosage. Fixate catheter at puncture site, for example with Perifix® Fixation Device.
